A few wedding cakes

I've made three wedding cakes to date.  I love making them since it is a time for me to create beautiful flowers out of sugar!  Last summer I made a wedding cake for a co-worker.  It certainly put me to the test.  The chocolate cake turned out fabulous which was the biggest of the three cakes.  The middle tier was vanilla, a cake I make frequently.  Well.... I over baked the first one and the second one fell in the oven!  I was on a time crunch so things really weren't going my way.  Third time's a charm - it turned out - finally!  The top tier was red velvet.  This cake had pink and off white roses as the main flowers.  They are all finished in butter cream icing.

My first wedding cake was for someone who worked with my sister.  I had just finished my Wilton courses and she saw some of my cake pictures and took a chance on me.  The wedding was a year away so I had some planning to do.  I had never made tiger lilies but I was up to the challenge.  Other than the stamens, I was happy with how they turned out.  If I were to make them today, they would look totally different.
